Dr. Robyn Javier (she/her/hers) is a STEM Communication Specialist & Lecturer in the Division of Engineering and Applied Science (EAS). She teaches courses in Caltech's Science and Engineering Communication (SEC) program (click here for her course list) and works directly with EAS undergraduates, graduate students, postdocs, and faculty to provide communication training on both individual and group bases.
Dr. Javier is a multidisciplinary STEM professional with more than 15 years of experience in science & engineering communication. She earned a PhD in Neuroscience from UC San Francisco, an MS in Biomedical Engineering, and a BS in Computational & Systems Biology from UCLA. Prior to joining Caltech, she worked at a global communications firm supporting clients that included major biotech and pharmaceutical companies, hospitals, and professional organizations such as IEEE. She is also a freelance writer, illustrator, and creative scientific storytelling consultant.
